Poi, which comes from the taro plant, was considered so important and a sacred part of daily Hawaiian life that whenever a bowl of poi was uncovered at the family dinner table, it was believed that the spirit of Hāloa, the ancestor of the Hawaiian people, was present. Our Bungalow Glow poi bowl soy candles are hand poured into the same, hand carved, sacred bowls once used for poi. Made from monkeypod and other Hawaiian hardwoods, each poi bowl can be re-used after your candle has finished burning. Burn time is approximately 35-40 hours.
